Cherie McCAfFerty – Psychologist

Cherie has over 12 years experience working as a psychologist providing mental health care for adults, families, adolescents, and children. She supports her clients with  a wide range of presenting problems, including depression, anxiety and trauma. 

She has worked extensively with parents of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, ODD, CD, anxiety, depression, and sleeping, eating and toileting problems. Cherie also supports new parents with Post Natal Depression, and those experiencing difficulty settling their babies and toddlers.

Cherie has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Circle of Security Parenting (COS) and Mindful Meditation and uses an individualised approach to suit each clients’ needs.

She is passionate about psychology and has a firm belief in celebrating diversity and assisting people on their recovery journey.

Brigid Horan – Accredited practising dietitian

ABN: 79 134 316 075

Brigid is an Accredited Practising Dietitian. She is part of the team at The Lighthouse Clinic treating clients with Eating Disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder. She also helps people who have a complex relationship with food, disordered eating habits, weight concerns, chronic dieting or poor body image. She is a skilled Health at Ever Size practitioner and an Accredited Intuitive Eating Counsellor and has trained in the Ellyn Satter Model to assist parents raise children with a healthy relationship with food.

Brigid also helps clients requiring nutrition advice for chronic illnesses such as PCOS, diabetes management and gut health issues.

Dr Andrew McKensey – psychiatrist

Dr McKensey is a general adult psychiatrist. He has trained both as a general psychiatrist as well as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. He has extensive experience working with Depression, Anxiety, Somatic disorder, Dipolar, Trauma, PTSD, Gender Dysphoria, and specialises in complex presentations.

Dr Jamie Nowlan – Clinical psychologist

Dr Nowlan is a registered Clinical Psychologist, who is committed to providing high-quality psychological treatments that are evidence-based, goal-oriented and time-focused. Dr Nowlan has experience with adults and older adults, having worked at the Specialist Mental Health Service for Older Persons at Wollongong Hospital and conducted research for a PhD at Macquarie University, Sydney, on treatment for older adults experiencing anxiety and depression. Dr Nowlan has a special interest in treatment for anxiety disorders - including social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety disorder - and coping with chronic physical health conditions such as chronic pain.
