Brigid Horan is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and and Intuitive Eating Counsellor with over 12 years experience across many settings. She has a warm compassionate collaborative approach to nutrition counselling and has trained in Motivational Interviewing to assist her work. She is skilled in providing nutrition counselling for a large range of presenting problems outlined below.

Weight concerns and body image

For most people rigid diets restrictive diets don’t work in the long term. Brigid is passionate about empowering people to feel better about their body and reconnect to food without feeling restricted and deprived.

Brigid has a particular interest in womens health including weight concerns, body image issues, hormone imbalances such as PCOS, pregnancy and fertility.

Brigid is a verified HAES practitioner. She adopts a HAES approach which essentially focuses on your overall health and healthy behaviours rather than focus on weight loss.

Intuitive Eating

Brigid is a trained Intuitive Eating Counsellor. She helps clients more away from food rules and a restrictive mindset around food and relearn what to eat based on body cues of hunger, fullness and satisfaction.

Family nutrition

Brigid has trained with the Ellyn Satter Institute. Sh is skilled in supporting parents to implement the division of responsibility in feeding to address fussy eating habits, weight concern in children and encourage children to grow up with a healthy relationship with food.

Brigid can help you manage your IBS or gut health concerns and make choices to support your body while maintaining enjoyment in eating.
